What is SLAM club basketball?
Club basketball offers a higher degree of fundamental skill training and a more competitive level of basketball than offered by community basketball programs.

What is the age for U13 Boys?
Boys born in the calendar year 2005 are eligible for SLAM U13 Boys basketball. Grade level is not a factor in U13 eligibility.
How do players become part of the SLAM U13 Boys team?
Unlike community basketball, players can't "join" or "sign up" for SLAM club basketball. Players are evaluated through a tryout session conducted by SLAM coaches. Players may also be invited to join the team without having attended a tryout session.

- Once coaches have determined a list of players they would like to invite to SLAM basketball they will send out an email to the player's parents inviting them to join SLAM
- Coaches may also elect to watch some players in SMBA game for evaluation
- When the team roster has been set, an email will be sent out to all the registered participants in the tryout notifiying everyone that roster has been finalized and team selection process has ended.

The team will consist of 10-12 players.

When are players chosen for teams?
Tryouts for SLAM U13 Boys basketball will take place on Sunday Feb 11th from 9:30am-12pm at Holy Cross High School. Registration begins at 9:00am. There is a $10 fee (cash only please) to attend the tryout.

When do practices start?
Practices for U13 Boys will start early March.
How many teams are there for U13 Boys?
There are two teams for Under 13 (U13) boys basketball:
- U13 team generally made up of grade 7 age players, typically born in 2005
- U12 team generally made up of grade 6 age players, typically born in 2006 but may include some 2007

Both teams participate in the U13 age division for tournament play.

What is the SLAM club basketball season like?
1) Teams practice on Sundays for 2-3 hours, starting in early March
2) Once the SMBA season is over, start of April, teams may add another practice, totalling 2 practices per week until the end May
3) Starting late April, teams will play in 3-4 weekend tournaments that may include some combination of Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, and Alberta
4) The season typically ends at the end of May but may continue to the end of June if the team elects to do so
What are the costs to play SLAM club basketball?
1) Team fees are generally $275 per season per player
2) Uniform cost is approximately $250 per player, uniforms are ordered every other year as fit necessitates
3) Optional SLAM clothing such as sweats and hoodies would be available at additional cost
4) SLAM offers financial aid to those that demonstrate financial need
