We are delighted to invite the entire Emmaus Pastorate to participate in a one-day experience – The Joy of Forgiveness. Forgiveness is one of the most precious gifts we receive and that we can give to our loved ones, a friend and to ourselves. This Lenten season offers us an opportunity to ask ourselves, “Who needs to be forgiven in my life?” Instead of giving something up, give something to yourself, the gift of peace through forgiveness.
Sandy Hoenig will lead a day of reflection for all parishioners in the Emmaus Pastorate who live ordinary lives and who believe that resolving an issue through forgiveness helps us to live a more positive, healthy and fulfilling life. Sandy adds, “If something truly bothers us, we need to get it out.”
During our time, Mrs. Hoenig assist participants in the understanding of the six stages of forgiveness: denial, self-blame, victimization, indignation, survivorship and reconciliation. Forgiveness unbinds our heart, frees us from grudges, resentment, self-defeating habits, addictions and negative feelings. Forgiveness is an essential step for every person as we cleanse our inner being and receive God’s gifts of mercy and forgiveness.
