Our goal is to ensure full awareness of the extensive library services available and enhance search techniques using library databases. Each workshop is designed independently; register for the workshops that interest you most.

Get familiar with the KU Libraries homepage and learn effective database search techniques. Get acquainted with lib.ku.edu and get to know the databases you MUST know for your research!

How to Make Effective Interlibrary Loan and Delivery Requests (Instructor: Michiko Ito) 

What if KU Libraries doesn’t have an item you need or you are away from Lawrence? This workshop discusses our resource sharing services and provides tips to make your requests more effective.

Chinese database workshop (Instructor: Cecilia Zhang) 

Get familiar with Chinese language databases like Duxiu, Chinamaxx, and CAJ. Learn the tricks of search and document delivery. Get introduced to MLA International Bibliography, Encyclopedia of Chinese Language and Linguistics, and learn how to use WorldCat for searching. Discover open access databases that are beneficial to research.

Japanese database workshop (Instructor: Michiko Ito) 

Learn to use important Japanese language online resources, and get familiar with three online newspaper databases: Asahi Cross Search, Yomidas, and The Japan Times, which is a newly subscribed resource for KU Libraries.
