The Teen Leadership Project Application
Our mission at The Teen Leadership Project (a Missional Outreach of the Human Formation Coalition): Helping teens discern their unique gifts and live a life of purpose through leadership, mission, and faith-based opportunities.

Everyone needs a WHY. A purpose and a plan. To feel fulfillment.

Unlock your hidden potential. See that everyone was made to lead in God’s kingdom. Unleash your talents on the world through love and service.

Our program includes monthly chaperoned volunteer service, monthly FUN and experiential sessions, a local Service Retreat, and a spiritually enriching mission to Puerto Rico. On the mission, we will interact with children through sports and help lift spirits in an area that has seen widespread damage due to Hurricane Maria all in partnership with a local church. Trip dates are expected to be June 13-19, but are dependent upon air, and are subject to change. While all proposed service, meeting, and Service retreats are expected to occur on the dates provided, please understand that dates are subject to change.

On our sports ministry mission (and before), our group will enjoy teamwork, team building, and leadership, and will share our skills and talents with our new friends in Puerto Rico. Our sports team will be led by Coach Dave Gray, who will be traveling with us to Puerto Rico! Other amazing coaches include Laura Mark (VP of Pharmacy for AHN- Leadership) and Evy Severino (Professional Certified Coach- Strengths).

Completion of the Teen Leadership Project journey (terms and conditions will be provided) will earn the student the Certified Teen Leader Award. It is also anticipated that students achieving this award will receive the President's Volunteer Service Award, the highest service designation awarded in the United States. If students complete all program elements they will have given 200 hours of service time.

We understand your schedules are busy, so we offer make-up opportunities as needed.

Program Costs (See Below): Fees include travel/transportation, lodging & food for Puerto Rico mission trip & service retreat, all program sessions, local service opportunities, Living Your Strengths book, and t-shirt. Carpools may be available for local volunteer service as well.

Puerto Rico mission also includes an excursion activity: proposed to be snorkeling/swimming in the Bio Luminescent Bay Parguera. All mission details are tentative and subject to change until confirmed.

Not included: Students will be responsible for travel day food (airport). Families may be asked to donate food/snacks for local sessions. Additional Service retreats may be available (for additional fee).

Fundraising: We will fund raise through online methods as well as other ways decided by the team. All team members are permitted to opt-out of fundraising. Additionally, we will seek corporate and individual sponsors who may wish to financially assist our team and the Project, especially considering the large amount of service time participants will be committing. Once it is determined how many participants would like to fund raise, fund raising team(s) will be created.
