If you are registering for more than one person (with your daughter, or a friend), please register individually.
Who? All CGS women, including
high school age and up.
What? Interactive Bible study,
including some direct teaching on key biblical content including historical and
theological background, literary insights, etc. and lots of questions that help
us understand the text and our hearts. The material is Unit One, Compassion, of
Person of Jesus: A Study of Love, from see Jesus (a ministry of Paul
Miller, who wrote A Praying Life and Love Walked Among Us).
When? 6:30-8pm, Thursday
evenings, May 16 through Aug 8 (except VBS week, and July 4th). Please feel free to
sign up even if you are not able to attend all of the sessions. This material
was selected partly based on the fact that each lesson is stand-alone (although
they do build on one another), so that if you are out from time to time (hello,
summer!), it will still be a valuable discipleship experience.
Where? CGS (room to be announced).
Why? Because spending time with
Jesus and with other believers is important – we will learn new ways to study
the Bible, which will deepen our love and respect for God’s Word, and take the
time to slow down and discover things about Jesus that we may never have
appreciated before. Because we are discussing and listening, we will also get
to know one another on a deeper level.
What
else? These
lessons are helpful for believers and non-believers alike because the content
slowly draws each of us into seeing Jesus. No prior Bible knowledge is
required, nor is a biblical worldview, so feel free to invite family and
friends who might be curious about Jesus.
