The Every Woman Story Project
What is the Every Woman Story Project?
On Valentines Day in 2014, I sat down at my in-laws house in Denver and started writing a book on Wattpad titled "Bon Bons to Yoga Pants." When I clicked 'Publish', I had no idea what was coming next.

It changed my life.

"Bon Bons to Yoga Pants" is a story about a twenty-two-year-old college student named Lexie Greene. She's insecure. Her self worth is dependent what she thinks people perceive about her. She longs for something more. But she doesn't really know how to get there.

Oh, and Lexie Greene is totally addicted to food.

Lexie was meant to be a shadow of myself during the years when I struggled most with self-acceptance. I spilled a lot of my emotional angst about food and the shame of my body image into her. Her story flowed out of my fingers every single day. Fans gathered in the thousands. I couldn't keep up with the responses from women just like me that said, "Lexie Greene is me. You wrote my story."

That's when I realized that Lexie was about more than just me.

Lexie Greene is every woman.

Fast-forward a year, and I found myself smack dab in the middle of professional counseling for the second time in my life. "I find myself eating and I don't know why," I told my new therapist. The words felt strange to say. "I think I need help." As an adjunct to our sessions, she pointed me to an author and therapist named Geneen Roth. A month later, I picked up her book "Feeding the Hungry Heart." I devoured it.

"Feeding the Hungry Heart" is a collection of stories from women who struggle with issues (whether it be eating, dieting, self hatred, bingeing, alcohol, you name it) all compiled into one book. I saw echoes of myself in each woman. Those stories of the darkness within them empowered me. I knew I wasn't alone. I wasn't the only woman who felt like a failure. Or weak-willed. Or not good enough. Or so riddled with the holes of shame that I knew I'd sink if the waves of life should ever overcome me.

The Every Woman Story Project is a place to bring women—and all the things we struggle with—together. It's a place of empowerment. Of vulnerability. Of strength. Of solid steel willpower. The purpose of the project is to collect stories from the women in the trenches and empower each other by sharing them.

All entries are totally anonymous. No one—not even me—will know who they are from. There is no rule. No limit to what you say or what story you tell. It can be two sentences, or two pages. Two paragraphs, or two words. When all entries have been gathered up, I will compile them into an ebook and offer them for free on my website, www.healthandhappinesssociety.com.

There will be no charge for the book. No fee. No monetary gain. No content editing. The stories will be presented as they are given.
