Greater Honesdale Partnership Scholarship Guidelines 2025-2026
All applicants must submit:
- Completed Scholarship Application Form
- Personal Statement (500–750 words) describing:
- Your volunteer and community service experience.
- How your efforts have made a difference for the organization and/or community.
- What community engagement means to you and how you plan to continue serving in the future.
- Volunteer Verification Form(s) signed by organizations, nonprofits, or supervisors where volunteer work was completed.
- One Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, counselor, community leader, or volunteer coordinator familiar with your service contributions.
- High School Transcript (unofficial copy is acceptable).
Selection Criteria
Applications will be scored based on:
- Extent and Impact of Volunteer Service (50%)
- Commitment to Community Engagement (20%)
- Personal Statement Quality (15%)
- Letter of Recommendation (10%)
- Academic Standing (5%)
Award Process
- One scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded.
- Open to any 2026 Graduate of Wayne Highlands, Wallenpaupack, or Western Wayne High School, or Home Schooled Student living within these districts
- The recipient will be selected by the Greater Honesdale Partnership Scholarship Committee.
- Funds will be paid directly to the student’s post-secondary institution to be applied toward tuition, fees, or educational expenses.
Timeline
- Applications Open: November 3
- Application Deadline: February 18
- Recipient Notified: March 25
- Award Presentation: The scholarship will be presented during the GHP Annual Meeting on April 23, 2026, at Central House, and at the recipient’s high school awards ceremony (if applicable). The student will receive two complimentary tickets to attend the Annual Meeting.
