"Tommer's Earthly Friends" Booking Form

The New London Barn Playhouse is going on tour! For the first time ever, New London Barn Playhouse has commissioned a new musical for our touring production.

Inspired by local author Kathy Lowe’s story, Tommer’s Earthly Friends ,12 year-old Tommer moves to rural New Hampshire from the city with his dad. He has a hard time fitting in with the other kids but encounters creatures in nature that help him discover new perspectives on life and the world around him. These creatures also help Tommer learn how to take care of the earth so nature can be there for all living creatures.

This musical explores themes of change, friendship, fitting in, grief, and the wonders of nature. The musical will feature original songs , large and small scaled puppets , Muti layered projections, and interactive storytelling . Also we will be offering workshops led by the author Kathy Lowe and the cast !

This Fall 2025, schools and other organizations around New Hampshire can bring our professional production of Tommer’s Earthly Friends to students during the school day.

Please fill out the form below to request a booking of the show, and email education@nlbarn.org with questions.

Required
Please share any details about the time(s) that would work best for a performance on previously selected day(s). The performance is one hour long. Ideally, we'd like to set up one hour before the show and tear down within 30 minutes after the show. *
If you know of any accommodations we could make to better support any of your students, please share details here (ie: two students use wheelchairs, some of our students have sensory sensitivities, etc) *
Our cast is made up of professional performers who are used to projecting their voices, so we will not provide microphones for the performance. If you have a large space and would like to provide microphones for our actors, we are happy to use them. Will you be providing microphones for the performance? *
Schools who book a performance of “Tommer's Earthly Friends” also receive one free 30–45 minute pre-show workshop from a Barn Playhouse teaching artist. The teaching artist will adjust the workshop content based on students’ ages and any requests from the classroom teacher. Would you like to schedule a pre-show workshop? (If yes, we will reach out to schedule a day and time)
*
The fee to book a performance ranges from $200–$800 based on the size of the audience. The average fee (one performance in the Fleming Center) is $500, which equals about $4 per student. Once you complete this form, we will reach out with a fee proposal based on your answers. We will work with your financial needs as much as possible, so please share any details about your group's financial situation here. *
Is there anything else you'd like to share or ask? You can also always email our staff at education@nlbarn.org. *
