Guest speaker - John O'Sullivan
We are excited to welcome John O'Sullivan, founder and CEO of the Changing the Game Project, to Steamboat Springs to start a discussion with parents and coaches about changing the environment in youth sports to keep more kids active, happy and healthy. John is a former collegiate and professional soccer player, and coached for 20 years on the youth, high school and college level. John is the author of two #1 bestselling books, and his blog gets nearly 5 million visits a year.
Supporting the W.O.W. Memorial Scholarship Fund
John has graciously donated his time for the presentation in hopes that it can raise money for the Wilhelm Otto Warnke Memorial Scholarship Fund; the scholarship was established in memory of the infant son of Carl and Julie Warnke; Carl is a local engineer and Julie is a middle school teacher. John O’Sullivan and Julie Warnke are childhood friends who deeply believe in positive relationships, inspiration, and life long learning. There is no fee to attend, but we hope if you find value in the presentation - and we're confident that you will - we ask that you make a donation at the event to support the W.O.W. Memorial Scholarship. The fund has awarded $10,000 of scholarships to Steamboat Springs High School seniors as well as contributing to several local organizations including Comunidad Integrada, Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, and the Yampa Valley Community Foundation. Donations of $20 or more will receive a free copy of John's best-selling book, Changing the Game: The Parent's Guide to Raising Happy, High-Performing Athletes and Giving Youth Sports Back to Our Kids.
