2019 Social Work LEAD (Legislative Education Advocacy Day) - March 5, 2019
The New York State Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-NYS), the New York State Social Work Education Association (NYSSWEA), the New York State Deans of Schools of Social Work and The New York City Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW-NYC) are hosting the annual Social Work Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD) at the Capitol in Albany, NY on Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

We will be advocating for the:

- Racial Equity Assessment In Legislation (REAL) Act
- Social Work Investment Initiative (#investinsocialwork)

The event will consist of an introduction to the issues and two activities to choose from: legislative appointments with your elected official(s) or a canvassing activity to bring awareness to the whole legislature.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please list your STATE Senator, and not your CONGRESSIONAL Senator (Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer are NYS's Congressional Senators). Whether you are participating in legislative appointments or canvassing the floor, please list both your Senator and Assemblymember. Answers such as: "I don't know" will not be accepted and your registration will be voided.

You can find your legislators using the below websites; we suggest that you conduct your search based on the address where you are registered to vote.
