Welcome to the application for the SMA Freshmen Representatives Program!
This program is a chance for freshmen students to gain exposure to the SMA team. Students can expect to learn about the organizational structure, how the team collaborates with one another, and what goes on behind the scenes!
The first semester of this program consists of students meeting and shadowing each member of the executive team (Either Communications or Operations) to learn about their role and help out that week if applicable. The second semester consists of students working on projects/items for SMA that are more hands-on in an area they discovered from semester one that they have interest in.
This is a great opportunity for students who want to gain early leadership experience, and would like to continue on the SMA board in the future. This is a great early experience to leverage on resumes, in job applications, and more!
There are two Freshmen Representative positions.
We are looking for One Communications Representative and One Operations Representative.
Throughout the program, students will:
- Semester one: Meet with the different members of either the Communications or Operations team on SMA's Executive Board to learn about the responsibilities of their role and assisting them with some tasks if applicable.
- Semester two: Take on a role of interest full-time!
This position serves during the 2026 - 2027 Academic Year. After year end, freshmen representatives will be heavily considered for further positions in the organization.
