Brevard Duplicate Bridge Fall 2019 Education Survey
We are considering offering some more bridge classes this fall, and are interested in hearing from you about which topics would be of most interest. Please use this survey to give us your input.

The first section lists all of the classes that we are currently considering, and asks how interested you are in each one. There is also space for you to suggest a class. The second section asks you to select your top five classes in order of preference.

Thank you in advance for your input. Please email June (junepatton@gmail.com) or Pam (carolinaex@aol.com) with any questions.
Proposed Classes
Defensive Signaling - Two Sessions *
How can you tell your partner what you have and/or what to lead without cheating? By using defensive signals. Learn how to use count, attitude, and suit preference signals to maximize your defensive tricks. On average, you will defend half of the hands that you play, making defense the most important part of the game. Learning how to signal effectively will dramatically improve your results!

New Minor Forcing - One Session *
The auction has gone 1D - 1H - 1NT - ??. As responder, you hold: xx AQJ53 KJ2 xxs. You are concerned about spades playing in a notrump contract. Partber doesn't have four hearts, but she might have three. How can you find out? A bidding convention called New Minor Forcing will give you the info you need.

Help Suit Game Tries - One Session *
The auction has gone 1S - 2S - ??. As opener, you hold AKJ54 x AQ54 Qxx. Partner has promised 6-10 points and 3-4 spades. If she has the king of diamonds, you can probably make game. If she has the king of hearts, it won't help you much. How can you learn if partner's hand fits well with yours? This class will teach you to use a Help Suit Game Try to find out.

Jacoby 2NT - One Session *
Many people have heard of Jacoby 2NT. This is the bid that responder makes when opener has bid 1H or 1S and responder has at least four cards in the suit and enough points for game. Learn what opener's and responder's rebids mean after this sequence and how to determine whether you should stop in game or explore for slam.

Using Cuebids to Explore for Slam - One Session *
Most people know how to use Blackwood or Gerber to ask for aces and kings. Sometimes you need to know whether partner has a specific ace or king, not just how many they have. Learn how to use cuebids to tell partner what you have (and what you don't have!) This technique will help you avoid bidding unmakeable slams.

Drury - One Session *
