ALL DANCERS, MUSICIANS, ACOTRS, WORDSMITHS, COMICS, FILM-MAKERS and INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTISTS OF ALL AGES WANTED
for STH's informal, shared showcase series in their newest WHEELHOUSE THEATRE (formerly entitled STH's SALON Showcase Series).
Performing, word, and cinematic artists of all stripes, ages and stages of their careers are encouraged to apply to present a brand new work, a revived work, an excerpt of a new or old work, or a work-in-progress
in this informal mixed variety show. Both wildly experimental and traditional works are welcome.
- Generally, 4-6 artists share each program and works generally range from 5-15 minutes running time. Work must be portable with minimal set-up and clear-off time.
- Showcases will be held on Saturday evenings at 7:30pm. If advanced ticket sales demand a second performance, one can be added on Sunday at 5:00pm. Tiered audience seating holds apr. 40 guests. Admission is $20 online in advance, $35 cash or PayPal at the door. Adult refreshments are available for purchase before and after the show.
- STH creates publicity graphic, conducts online advanced ticket sales, provides performance space, basic sound and lighting capabilities, refreshments and a downstairs dressing area/warm-up studio, plus a sound/light board operator and box offfice/front of house staff. Generally, there is a tech rehearsal on Friday night starting at 7:30pm before each Saturday show.
- STH provides giant TV monitor for screening films and videos. Film-makers provide their own laptops with HDMI portal to run their films and videos off of. Film-makers or a representative must be present at the live show.
- Yes, you can apply to be on an unlimited number of showcases. Yes, applications are accepted throughout the year. Yes, you can present more than one work on a program.
- Although there is no money involved at this time, artists are encouraged to use this forum as a fundraising tool and Spoke the Hub as a conduit for tax-deductible donations that go directly to the artist. Donations can be made when buying tickets online in advance.
