Interested? Apply below today for an opportunity to showcase your business at the 2nd Annual Kid Entrepreneur Day at Once Upon a Child on Saturday, June 8th from 12pm-3pm. Application deadline is May 9th at 10PM. Due to space limitations we can only fit SIX 10x10 booth spaces outside of the store on the sidewalk. Businesses will be expected to bring their own 6ft table, chair(s) and/or pop-up tent (no larger than 10x10 please).
OFFICIAL RULES: Applications must be submitted by May 9th at 10PM EST. Macaroni Kid and Once Upon a Child will separate all applicants/businesses into three groups based on age (6-8, 9-12, 13-17). Two businesses from each group will be randomly chosen. No two businesses in the same category will be selected; we will re-draw as necessary. The chance of being selected will depend on the total number of entries received.
Selected applicants will be notified via email by May 15th. Once selected, applicant/parent will be responsible for a $25 non-refundable registration fee which will be sent via PayPal invoice to the email address provided in the application and must be paid by May 20, 2019.
Selected businesses who have paid their registration fee will then be invited to attend a welcome coaching session with Macaroni Kid and Once Upon a Child on Wednesday, May 22 at location TBD from 5PM-6PM. Here kids will have the opportunity to ask questions and be given tips and suggestions for preparing their products and booth display for the event.
Parents are welcome to help their children with the application process however we encourage parents to empower their kids to develop their ideas, strategies and products on their own and to run their booth/interact with their customers. Their business will be set up in a real retail environment at a popular local store that gets a lot of foot traffic. Allowing the kids to do as much as they can on their own will ensure they get the most out of this exciting, unique learning experience.
If applying as a group (up to 4 children) please submit one application per child.
Macaroni Kid and Once Upon a Child reserve the right to choose more or less applicants as well as the right to decide if a second showcase date is needed. Hosts also reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event at any time.
