SEQUENTIAL ART CALL for SAW's Word-of-Mouth Show + Social 2025

Do you have a completed comic you'd like to present in front of comic peers and fans? What about a short video or film you'd like to showcase?

We are looking for COMPLETED work for an upcoming LIVE and IN-PERSON comics readings, art presentation, and video show in the SAW Studio! Artists will have the opportunity to present recent work that encompasses visual storytelling to a live audience PLUS have the bonus of networking with other local creators.

We welcome artwork that is bold, experimental, and expressive. Submissions should align with the spirit of creativity, curiosity, and respect. We do not accept work that promotes hate, discrimination, or harmful messaging. Any AI-generated artwork or writing will not be accepted.

We hope you join us for a night full of creativity, laughs, and community!

Details About the Show!

The show will take place IN-PERSON on Friday, November 7th, 2025 at 7PM in the SAW STUDIO & GFAA Gallery - 1314 S Main Street.

This is an in-person event that takes place in our physical studio space in Gainesville, FL. Participants must present their work in-person. Please be aware of that before submitting your work.

We are looking for work that can sustain a 5-7 minute presentation! If your work will require a bit more time, please note this in the timing question in the form below.

SAW's Word-of-Mouth Show welcome ages 18+ since there may be some content not suitable for children.

What is Sequential Art?

Sequential art describes art forms that use images deployed in a specific order for the purpose of visual storytelling. How you go about this is up to you! Comics are one of the most recognized forms of sequential art but we think film, video, and even music or comedy paired with image displays could be sequential art.

You can present a mini-comic/zine, comic strips, photo-comics, comics collage, storyboards, a short video/film, sequential painting, a song paired with images to tell a story, comedy with some images, or etc. As long as you're submitting completed work where the story can move through time visually.

We are looking for FINISHED work!
