Japan-in-a-Suitcase Volunteer Registration
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteering with the JiS team! Japan in a Suitcase is an educational outreach program that the Society offers free of charge. Its purpose is to promote the understanding of Japan and Japanese culture among local elementary school children. Teams of English-speaking and Japanese-speaking volunteers will visit elementary schools to make presentations on Japan and Japanese culture. Each team will be provided with a curriculum outline and a suitcase containing cultural items. Volunteers will help students learn how to say some Japanese greetings, how to count in Japanese, how to use chopsticks, etc.

Don't worry if you feel like you won't be available that often or if you can't speak Japanese - as long as you love Japanese culture and are comfortable with children, we encourage you to apply!
