Generative AI & Journalism: A Conversation about What Synthetic Media Could and Should Mean for News

What role could–or should–Generative AI (GenAI) play in a newsroom, if any? Join us for an informal and open conversation with USC scholars and practitioners sharing their thoughts about, and experiences with, GenAI’s impact on journalism, news, and the press. What should schools and practitioners do now to make sense of GenAI’s power, in covering everything from local communities and global conflicts to upcoming elections and climate crises?  What does responsible experimentation with GenAI for news look like?  What are we not talking about, but should be?
