Becoming a PTO member is a great way of showing support for your child's school and get involved! Your membership dues help fund academic enrichment programs, support our teachers, and enable family activities such as:
- Financially supporting all school rewards incentives
- Covering certain field trip expenses and bus fees
- Providing snacks to the front office for those students who don't have the means
- Providing financial support for recess equipment maintenance
- Providing financial support for Field Day
- Funding our teacher allocations for the classroom
- Funding our yearly grants for classrooms
- and so.much.more!
By joining the PTO, you are
NOT required to volunteer a minimum amount of hours or attend meetings. But, we strongly encourage you to become involved! Meetings are held the 2nd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Thorson Community Room.
Your PTO membership entitles you to the following benefits and perks:
- Vote at PTO meetings
- Become a chair or co-chair of a PTO committee or event
- Receive access to the 2025/26 Thorson Elementary Student Directory - NOW DIGITAL (yay!)
