Dear Participant,

I am D.G. Nishadi Tharaka, an undergraduate attached to the Department of Animal Science, Uva Wellassa University. I kindly invite you to participate in my academic research study. 

Titled “The Impact of Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices on Sri Lankan University Students' Awareness Towards Microplastic Contamination in Animal-Origin Food.” Please read the following information carefully before deciding to participate.

 

🎯 Purpose of the Study

The aim of this study is to investigate how knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) influence the level of awareness among Sri Lankan university students regarding microplastic contamination in foods of animal origin (such as fish, meat, eggs, and dairy). The findings will help identify awareness gaps and inform strategies to improve food safety and public health education.

Participation in this study is entirely voluntary. You are free to choose whether or not to take part. You may also withdraw from the study at any point without facing any consequences or needing to provide a reason.

 

🤔 What Will You Be Asked to Do?

You will be asked to complete a questionnaire that takes approximately 15–20 minutes. The survey contains questions about your knowledge, opinions, and practices related to food safety and microplastic contamination. There are no right or wrong answers.

🌟 Potential Benefits

There are no direct personal benefits from participating. However, your input will help researchers better understand how informed Sri Lankan university students are about microplastic risks in animal-derived food, contributing to the development of public awareness campaigns and educational policies.

There are no significant risks associated with this study. All questions are general and non-sensitive. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, you may stop answering.

 

💰 Reimbursements

There is no monetary reward for participating in this research.

You can withdraw at any time, for any reason, without facing any penalties. If you choose to stop participating, simply exit the questionnaire form.
