I want to give a talk, but none of the above work
Can you do a 10 min AV check on the Saturday before your talk?
We want to check that your camera and microphone work well. We'll be available between 10am and 1pm, Pacific Daylight Time.
No (we'll email you to find another time)
The talk+Q&A will be recorded and the transcript+video may be published by the LW team.
I understand, and that's fine with me.
Will your talk be about AI, or contain a lot of math?
We usually try to put these talks in the same week.
Anything else you want to say?
If you already know what you want to give a talk on, feel free to mention it here.
We want to give top LessWrong writers an interesting space to discuss their ideas, and increase the amount of discussion and collaboration between users.
Think of this like a cross between an academic colloquium and some friends chatting by a whiteboard.
Since talks will be short, try to focus on presenting one core idea well, rather than rushing through a lot of content. For example, "Here's an interesting concept, and three concrete examples of it", or "Here's a question I care about, and why I care about that question".
Talks can involve slides and screen-sharing.
Each talk will be followed by a 5-10 min Q&A.
