Interns will work closely with the Managing Director on all aspects of marketing and development. In addition, Interns will work closely with the Managing Director, and Executive Director in the development of long term growth and development strategies of the company.
Principal duties include: Support Opera MODO Managing Director and staff with day to day administrative duties of a professional opera company in the areas of marketing, development, patron services, and general managementAssist in the creation and distribution of marketing and publicity materialsAssist in developing content for Opera MODO’s social media presence and development of social media timelines Support staff and executive leadership in the development and implementation of new strategies and initiatives for both fundraising and marketingProvide support around research and expansion of new marketing initiatives Assist with prospective donor research and cultivation, as well as current donor stewardship Assist with research into foundations and grant programsSupport staff in the execution of special events, including the annual gala Participate in weekly staff meetings as neededData entry and database managementOther administrative duties as needed
Qualifications: A working knowledge of theater, arts administration, or non-profit marketing practicesExperience with marketing on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and SnapchatExceptional written communication skillsHighly organized and detail orientedSelf-starterTeam player Enjoy working in fast paced environmentExpert in Microsoft office suite, including Excel A sense of humor is required Knowledge of database management, graphic design, marketing, and/or communications a plus The ideal candidate is interested in a career in theater administration
