What to Expect: We will spend our time inside by candlelight (battery operated candles). We will begin with grounding breath and gentle stretches & movement. You will then be guided into a few comfortable, supported positions using the bolsters and cushions while listening to a sound meditation. At the end we will share tea together with a simple tea ceremony. This is curated for all levels - no previous experience required.
What to Bring: Be sure to wear comfortable clothes for gentle movement. Yoga mats and bolsters are provided at the Sanctuary but feel free to bring your own yoga mats if you would like. I also suggest bringing socks, pillows, and blankets - anything you need to feel cozy. We will be sharing tea together as well so please bring your own cup - we will have some cups if needed.
Who This is For: This experience is designed for adults and older teens who enjoy quiet time. Due to the length and contemplative pace, this offering is not the best fit for younger children. Thank you for your understanding. If you are looking for an experience for children, please ask - I have some great resources including, Whidbey Forest Friends.
Your Guide : Hi, I am Nancy Schmidt. I’m a Whidbey Island native who recently returned to Clinton with my husband, two children, and our dog, Chewy.
For more than 25 years, I have taught communication and connection to teens and adults, weaving mindfulness practices into both my teaching and my everyday life. I believe deeply in the restorative power of nature and the importance of slowing down. Additionally, I am a certified Forest Bath, Yoga, Meditation, and Reiki practitioner and am being mentored in the art of Sound Healing.
It is a joy and an honor to create this experience for you all. In Peace, Nancy
