WHAT WE DO
HMM is a 100% people-powered initiative adapted to the safety measures required during Covid-19. Within the safety and comfort of their homes, volunteers from all around Southern California prepare, deliver, and serve homemade meals every day. Partnering with shelters and coalitions, we have moved past merely existing as a project. We are a community— a network of networks— a family founded and bounded by food.

WHY— OUR MISSION
By serving homemade meals to low-income communities every day, Home-y Made Meals seizes the power of food to nourish our unhoused neighbors, move people towards action, and synthesize tangible solutions supplanting segregation. We practice relational work in food justice, prioritizing accessibility and adaptability to protect the ones we serve and the ones serving.

CHEFS:
The safest created meal would include all pre-packaged goods, like pre-made sandwiches from a store or items like Lunchables. The next safest would be using foods that don't perish quickly. Safety guidelines will be provided for those who choose this option.

DRIVERS:
Drivers will be mostly responsible for helping pick-up/drop-off meals to and from volunteers' homes to service site (Los Angeles & Orange County locations). Drivers will not be asked to physically serve items to people. Safety guidelines will be provided for those who choose this option.

DONORS:
100% of all donations will go directly providing support to low-income families and unhoused neighbors during this pandemic. All monetary donations can be made here: https://givebutter.com/homeymademeals

Thank you so much for your interest in this collective effort. Amongst all the craziness, if you're reading this we want to give you so much love because you've got a big heart and it's needed in this world. Some of us at Eayikes & Polo’s Pantry are figuring out how to best be of service to follow the best, emergent, practices for the highest good while creating the safest and most responsible community service project. 

Please, if you are deeply concerned for the safety of yourself and loved ones, sit tight and keep an eye out for future community service opportunities. There's much work to be done so no pressure to join us in this effort. Thank you!

Agreement: In consideration of the opportunity to participate as a Home-y Made Meals volunteer, I hereby freely, voluntarily and without duress sign this agreement (this “Agreement”) on the following terms. I hereby release Eayikes, Polo’s Pantry, and any other Eayikes-affiliated or Polo’s Pantry-affiliated organizations, franchisees and licensees, and their respective directors, officers, board members, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) and their successors and assigns from any and all liability, claims and demands which I or my heirs, assigns, next of kin or legal representatives may have or which may hereinafter accrue with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death or property damage which has arisen or may hereafter arise from or is any way related to my participation as a Home-y Made Meals volunteer, whether caused wholly or in part by the negligence, fault or other misconduct, other than intentional or grossly negligent conduct, of any of the Released Parties.
