Upper Cataract Trail
Celebrate National Trails Day with Marin Water on Upper Cataract Trail! We will improve the safety of this trail through bridge repairs, dirt work and overgrown vegetation management. Join us to connect with your community and give back to one of the most frequented trails on Mt. Tam for future generations.
LOGISTICS:
We are asking participants to arrive at Rock Spring Trailhead/Parking Lot (Pantoll Rd & W Ridgecrest Blvd link to map) at 8:45 am for breakfast snacks and sign-in. We will start the day with a safety talk & project overview in the parking lot, then hike to the project sites. We will be providing lunch to volunteers at Rock Spring picnic tables at 1:00 p.m. and the event will conclude at 2 p.m. after lunch.
RSVP IS REQUIRED! This event is limited to 40 people. All first-time volunteers must also sign our Volunteer Service Agreement, and all volunteers under 18 must have the form signed by a parent or guardian. All experience levels are welcome! That includes those with no experience with trail work to professionals. Read more about what to expect & what to bring for a Trail Stewardship Work Day here. Volunteers should be prepared for moderately strenuous activity and should have the ability to hike 2 miles. We will provide tools, gloves, but please make sure to bring your own water bottle and a backpack to carry your lunch in! We welcome the rain, but may need to cancel if extreme weather is expected. If unsure of event status, call 415-945-1128 after 7 a.m. the morning of the work day for updates.
