Mizzle is a podcast centred towards mental health awareness. Although there is common knowledge on mental health related issues, there is a definite lack of understanding as to how these issues affect those experiencing it on a day-to-day basis. Mizzle aims to unapologetically depict the issue by sharing the story of those living through it rather than having a generic approach to abstract problems. Doing so will allow for greater compassion, sympathy, and consideration for those affected.
We want to give you a platform to share your personal experiences with mental health, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
Guardrails:
1) Anonymity can be granted by changing student’s names and relevant personal information such as age, program of study (POSt), ethnicity.
2) Participants can request, at any time including after publishing, the removal of material that includes themselves, their words and story. This includes the taking down of the podcast episode on all audiosharing platforms such as YouTube, Spotify, or PAUSE’s website.
3) The Podcast shall include a reminder for telephone numbers to call if a listener is in distress, e.g. 988 for suicide prevention, or Good2Talk for Ontario specific purposes.
4) All personal information should be stored in password encrypted files, and sign up forms should be deleted after a specified time (e.g. 6 months).
5) A list of talking points shall be provided and agreed upon prior to recording
6) The podcast topic can range to a very high variance, but before recording the participant is reassured that they can choose to not answer the question if they do not feel comfortable doing so.
