The California Child Life Licensure Task Force is gathering information to better understand the child life workforce across California, including certification status, educational background, practice settings, and interest in potential state licensure.

This information will help inform ongoing efforts to explore licensure as a way to establish professional standards, protect children and families, and reduce the risk of individuals misrepresenting themselves as qualified child life professionals without appropriate education, training, or credentials.
