Re-open Crewe

Re-opening Crewe: Creative Walks + Exhibition

This September, as part of Heritage Open Days 2025, join Re-opening Crewe for a series of free creative walks in the town centre.

Led by independent curator Sergey Kamenskiy, the walks use playful game cards to help you 👀 notice details, 🤔 reflect on the streets around you, and ✨ imagine new stories about familiar places.

Your discoveries — drawings, photos, notes or ideas — will become part of a public exhibition at Crewe Library, showing how differently we can all experience the same town

To make the most of your walk, please keep in mind:

  • Wear comfortable shoes – we’ll be walking for around 1 hour 20 minutes at a relaxed pace.
  • Dress for the weather – if it looks like rain, a waterproof jacket or umbrella will keep you dry.
  • Bring water if you’d like to stay refreshed during the walk.
  • Charge your phone or camera if you want to capture photos or sounds – you’ll be invited to document your discoveries.
  • Families welcome – children should be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Dogs welcome – on a lead, please.
We’ll meet at the corner of Market Street and Earle Street, next to The Three Lamps. Look out for Sergey, your guide – and be ready to explore Crewe in a whole new way!

Sharing Your Work
During the walk, we may invite you to take photos, make sketches, write short texts, or capture sounds.
After the walk, some of these materials will be displayed as part of a public exhibition at Crewe Library, showing the many different ways we can see and experience our town.
You will always choose what you’d like to share.
