Registration Form for 2020
The Piano Preparatory Department at the Lamont School of Music is offering Adult Beginner piano classes!

We believe that there is music in everyone, yes, even those who are embarking on their journey at the piano as an adult.

Studies have shown that learning piano as an adult in a group setting has many advantages and benefits. We are pleased to have you experience this unique opportunity with us.

Calendar
There are 3 sessions throughout the year and you are welcome to register for one, two or three of them. Whatever is convenient for you. (See Calendar below for color-coded dates.)

Fall Session: Sept 19th - Nov. 7th.
Winter Session: Jan. 16th - March 5th.
Spring Session:  April 9th - May 28th.

Sessions
Each session lasts 8 weeks and is a module geared towards a specific topic. Our next 8-week module of Recreational Music Making for adults is open to all levels of beginners who wish to expand their knowledge of the piano and learn how to read music.  Using the theme of dance, learn some basic steps alongside the piano to strengthen your sense of rhythm and flow. This module will prioritize reading music and understanding various dance rhythms.

At the end of the 8 weeks, you will gain substantial tools to learn music independently at the piano.

Each module is a separate course and is not dependent on what was covered in the previous module so feel free to sign up for one, two or all three.

Sessions begin at 6:30 and end at 7:30pm on Thursday evenings and meet in the Digital Piano Lab, Room 437 in the Lamont School of Music Building.

Tuition
$240 per session.
$200 for those with a DU faculty or staff ID per session.
