ATTENDANCE: All choral singers are welcome to join the First Church Festival Chorus. That said, given the limited rehearsal time, chorus members are expected to prepare their music in advance of the first meeting. While there is some leeway to miss one or two rehearsals, full attendance will provide the best preparation for the performance. Dates for the rehearsals are in the questionnaire.
FEES: To help cover production costs, including those of hiring a fully professional orchestra and professional soloists, there is a participation fee of $80 per singer.
In past years, we have had situations where registrations have exceeded capacity for each section (SATB). To ensure that your spot is reserved, you will need to pay online (details below) or deliver cash or check, payable to "FCCB", to the church office (First Church Berkeley, c/o Derek Tam, 2345 Channing Way, Berkeley, CA 94704).
SCORES: There is only one vocal edition available for each piece, published by Oxford University Press (OUP). The retail cost is:
$13.95 — Serenade to Music$19.95 — Dona Nobis Pacem
You are required to have the score BEFORE the first rehearsal; it is available through the OUP website. You may purchase the vocal scores on your own. You may also request in this questionnaire that we purchase the score for you (for this option, you will need to register before Dec. 1.), and you may pay for this along with your participation fee.
Spots will be reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis.
A limited number of scholarships are available. Please see below for more details.
TICKETS: One complimentary ticket to the performance is available for all participants. Additional tickets are available for purchase on Brown Paper Tickets (https://vaughanwilliamsfccb.brownpapertickets.com/) or at the door.
You may also pay by cash or check, payable to "FCCB", to the church office (First Church Berkeley, c/o Derek Tam, 2345 Channing Way, Berkeley, CA 94704).
Please consider an additional, tax-deductible donation to help ensure the continued financial viability of such concerts.
