Thank you for considering membership in the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. Below you will find information and instructions regarding your institutional and individual memberships.

Membership Information

How many members can we have?

Each institution is allowed to have an unlimited number of MACTE members, but AACTE guidelines limits how many VOTING members each institution is allowed. The number of voting members is determined by how many Title II program completers your institution reported to DESE during the previous academic year. Regarding voting members, the following guidelines apply:

Regular Memberships: 3 voting members
1 additional voting member for each 100 program completers
Unlimited non-voting members

Associate Memberships: 1 voting member
1 additional voting member for each 100 program completers
Unlimited non-voting members


Each institution will need to refer to their Title II report from the previous year to determine the number of voting members. If DESE can provide MACTE with a list, it will be posted on the MACTE website. Please be sure to list your voting members on your membership application.

Can I attend the fall and spring meetings if I am not a member?

Yes, non-members are allowed to attend the fall and spring meeting, and are allowed to attend the DESE pre-conference workshop. However, because membership fees help support conference expenses, we strongly encourage everyone who wants to attend the fall and spring meetings to join MACTE. This will ensure a strong financial base for MACTE which will allow us to continue offering high quality meetings.

Do I have to join a List Serv? How do I get started if I do join one?

MACTE uses list serv’s to assist members in communicating with each other. MACTE now has 5 list serv’s to better serve the membership: MACTE – All, Field Experiences, Community Colleges, Deans/Unit Leaders and Assessment Directors. If you indicate on your membership form that you would like to be enrolled in one or more list serv, you will receive an email confirming your enrollment and providing instructions to get started. If you are already a member of that list serv, please mark it and your membership will continue.

Membership Categories as Determined by AACTE Guidelines

Regular Membership: Four Year Institutions holding AACTE Membership
Institutional Dues: $125.00 plus $25.00 per Member
Eligible for 3 voting members, PLUS one more for each 100 Title II
program Completers in the prior academic year.

Associate Membership: Four Year Institutions not holding AACTE Membership, and all Two-Year
Institutions to include Community Colleges. Community Colleges
pay an additional $50.00 Community College fee per year for the
Scholarship Fund.
Institutional Dues: $125.00 plus $25.00 per Member
Eligible for 1 voting member, PLUS one more for each 100 Title II
program Completers in the prior academic year.

Institutions may have an unlimited number of individual members; however voting members are limited to the number indicated in the membership levels above.
