STATEMENT FROM ALBANY COUNTY COMPTROLLER MIKE CONNERS ON ALBANYTAXPAYERS.ORG:
"Upon hearing and witnessing the widespread irregularities during Tuesday's vote, a group of concerned homeowners set up the site albanytaxpayers.org on Wednesday morning because they wanted to give a voice to the hundreds and possibly thousands of disenfranchised Albany voters.
When they learned that I was considering a lawsuit, they contacted me and offered the site as a way for disenfranchised voters to share their experiences, something that will be necessary if we must proceed with legal action.
Given the heightened emotions around this issue, they asked to remain anonymous, and I respect that.
This is grassroots action at its best. The website they set up is helping us get important information into the hands of the people who need it and to make sure that Albany residents get the fair election they deserve. I encourage everyone who had difficulty voting on Tuesday to visit the website and share your story."
