Captain Zuncho's Lost Map
Oh no Captain Zuncho has lost his treasure and needs some help to find it.

Can you help him find his treasure.

In order to help we need to do some Art.

The first thing that you need to do is find a good place to work.

A small area in your home such as a desk, kitchen table or even the floor can be a suitable place to create art, just make sure to cover with newspaper or a tablecloth if you think you will make a mess, ask a parent or carer to help you set up a space to create your artwork.

Don’t worry if you haven’t got heaps of art supplies stashed away at home. You can improvise, make your own or even find ways to recycle everyday objects from around your home. This activity will use a limited selection of art supplies to make sure you can get the most out of your art home learning.

Remember to be positive about your art work! Share your creations with us at learnwithELC@gmail.com and be proud of what you have made.

Let's get going...

Captain Zuncho has buried his treasure on a desert island somewhere and he needs you to draw him a treasure map to help him find it as you were with him when he buried it. You will need some tools to start with: Tea bags (or coffee), plain paper (if you don’t have any you could use a brown paper bag, newspaper, the back of some junk mail or an empty envelope), pens, pencils or a biro.
Ask an adult to brew a tea bag in a shallow mug full of hot water, when it has cooled dab the tea bag over your paper until it starts to stain the paper. You can repeat this on both sides of your paper. Leave to dry.  Tear the edges of your paper or crumple it up to make it look even more authentic.
When your paper is dry you can begin to draw your details on the map, you could use a dotted line to connect the different places on your map. Maybe your map could represent rooms in your house? Add any finishing touches like skulls, treasure chests, palm trees or an ‘X’ to mark the spot where your treasure is hidden!
When you have finished perhaps try the Pirate themed Crossword Puzzle below:
