About the Program
Fort Greene Park Conservancy (FGPC) is the non-profit partner to NYC Parks and works with the City of New York to steward, fundraise and advocate for Fort Greene Park.

FGPC is launching a new Volunteer Greeter Program and accepting volunteer applications for its first season, which will consist of engaging and educating park patrons on park events, history, horticulture, and more.

Volunteer Greeter Description
FGPC is seeking committed and passionate volunteers to be ambassadors of Fort Greene Park. Volunteer Greeters will play a key role educating the public about the park and the Conservancy’s work to support it. Interested candidates must attend and participate in an orientation session and training. The program will run from July to September. Greeters are expected to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month consisting of 3 hours per month. Shifts will be available Saturdays from 1:30pm to 6pm and be 90 minutes long. Greeters will work in pairs during their shifts.
Requirements
-Comfort with talking to the public
-Committed and punctual
-Ability to attend orientation and training
-Ability to meet the time commitment of 3 hours per month
-Positively represent FGPC and the park
-18 years old +
-No prior greeter/visitor services experience necessary
