In general, such use shall be for the recreational, educational, scientific, literary, economic, artistic, civic or moral interests of the youth and/or families of the school community. Also, such use must be nonprofit, nonpartisan, secular, and non-discriminatory in nature. No distribution shall be made which may promote any commercial or profit-making organization, activity or product. All non-school flyers must contain clear statements of non-school sponsorship and of not being prepared at school expense.
Any student may refuse to accept non-school sponsored materials.
1. A letter requesting permission to distribute non-school sponsored material must be presented to the Educational Services Division at least 10 days prior to the desired date of the distribution. This letter must indicate the desired date of distribution and extent of desired distribution. The letter must be on official letterhead, signed by an authorized representative or official of the organization and include the organization's EIN number.
2. All non-school sponsored materials must contain the statement, "This program is not affiliated with the school or school district ("PYLUSD"). PYLUSD does not endorse or sponsor this activity."
3. At schools, distribution shall be under the control of the principal and staff.
4. Students may refuse to accept the distribution of non-school sponsored materials.
