NCC Has Left the Building

***EDIT - Due to your overwhelming support for this event, we have now added a 4th AND 5th location! We could not be more excited to be able to expand our outreach – and it’s all thanks to you! Your willingness to serve our community is what it’s all about! Now introducing #4 & #5: Pop-Up Prayer and St. Matthew's House! (See below)

On this special Sunday we won’t just have a church service—we’ll be the service! Meet at the church as usual for brief worship and instructions. Then at 10:15am, NCC will leave the building, in 4 teams as follows:

  • Outdoors

  • Mild/moderate labor - service-based option

  • NO CHURCH VAN PROVIDED - CARPOOLING ENCOURAGED

2. Better Together (led by Pastor Brett)

  • Handing out toys and buckets of cleaning supplies

  • Door-to-door canvassing

  • Mild labor – service/communication-based option

  • CHURCH VAN ONLY – NO PERSONAL VEHICLES ALLOWED

3. Nursing Home (led by John Penn) —

  • Assist with putting on church service & handing out gift bags to residents

  • Non-labor intensive – communication-based option

4. Pop-Up Prayer (led by Christian Aabel & Carlos Ardaya) —

  • “Pop up” somewhere local, praying for people while handing out popsicles

  • Non/mild labor – communication/service-based option

  • Outdoors

  • CHURCH VAN PROVIDED & PERSONAL VEHICLES ALLOWED

5. St. Matthew’s House (led by Jim Burchett)

  • Prepping and serving meals in the shelter

  • Mild-labor - service based option

  • Indoors

  • NO CHURCH VAN PROVIDED - PERSONAL VEHICLES ONLY

 6. "Place me where I'm Needed" – This location gives us the flexibility to fill/switch spots as things come up.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

  • Prepare to be serving from 10:15am - 12:30pm for all locations

  • SPOTS ARE LIMITED

  • WEAR YOUR BLUE NCC TSHIRT, & dress appropriately/comfortably for your location. Closed-toed shoes/sunscreen is advised for outdoor locations

  • Connections Cafe will be CLOSED prior to service

  • BLITZ @ Rib City (9191 Tamiami Trail N) following service - a way to gather & connect with each other after the event. (Locations with church vans will return from worksite back to NCC BEFORE the Blitz)

We understand it’s not always easy to get outside our comfort zones, but that’s what makes this moment so exciting. It’s about being willing to go, to love, and to serve—even when it stretches us. Together, we get to try something different and bring the love of Jesus where it’s needed most. As we leave the building on the 28th, let’s take this step together as an extension of His hands and feet, knowing He’ll be with us every step of the way.
