Thank you for your interest in this survey; it is a component of the Erie County Hazard Mitigation Plan
update project sponsored by the Erie County Department of Planning and Community Development and the Erie County Department of Public Safety. Every five years, the county and the municipalities within Erie County review the hazards that could affect them and consider a variety of risk reduction projects designed to lessen the physical, operational, and social losses that occur as a result of those hazards.
Your responses to this survey will help the hazard mitigation steering committee to make decisions regarding the types of projects that appear in the updated plan. Your responses are totally anonymous, and the steering committee hopes you will provide your honest opinions about the project types below. We are asking you to respond to questions on a "linear scale," which means you will rank how much you would support these projects on a four point scale from 1 (Not At All) to 4 (Very Much). All projects are hypothetical; being listed on this survey does not imply that any community has already decided to do them. At the end of the survey, we will ask you for ideas on other types of projects we may not have listed on the survey, and you will also have an opportunity to provide any general comments or concerns that you have regarding the hazards to which Erie County's communities might be impacted.
Even though these responses are anonymous, we will ask you for the municipality in which you live for data presentation purposes (for example, the number of responses per municipality depicted on a map). The survey will not collect your email, your name, or any other personally-identifying information.
