If you are still interested in being a part of the program, DSCI will need you to fill out an application in the Maryland Corps/Service Year Option application portal and indicate an interest in working on climate issues. The next application deadline is July 1st.
As a reminder to be eligible to serve in the Maryland Climate Corps, you must have graduated from a Maryland High School as part of the classes of 2021, 2022, 2023 or 2024.

What is the Maryland Climate Corps?
The Maryland Climate Corps offers recent Maryland High School Graduates and GED recipients the opportunity to get involved protecting their community from the impacts of climate change while receiving the workforce training necessary to access a well-paying green job after their service.
A new initiative of the Department of Service and Civic Innovation, Climate Corps Fellows will engage in activities that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, build green infrastructure, and improve community resilience to climate disasters. The program will prioritize environmental justice strategies for low-income communities and communities of color who often face the worst effects of climate change.

Career coaching and job seeking assistance
Upon completion of a year of service, members receive $6,000 that can be paid out as a taxable cash stipend or deposited into a Maryland 529 account toward your future tuition costs.
Member Requirements:
Have graduated from a Maryland High School or GED program within the past four years (Class of 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024).
Willing to serve full-time at your sponsoring organization and participate in targeted professional development.
The program is a minimum 40 hours per week time commitment between the service at your Host Site Partner and the required professional development.
Be at least 18 years old by September 11th, 2024.
