Thursday April 26 Mapping Our Futures – A Half-Day Popular Education Workshop with Beautiful Solutions-- Registration
Location: 5th Floor/Plenary Hall, School of Human Ecology/Nancy Nicholas Hall, 1300 Linden Dr. Madison, WI
Time: 1pm-4pm

Event description: Popular educators from Beautiful Solutions will offer a 3-hour participatory workshop using curriculum from the Highlander Research and Education Center’s Mapping Our Futures curriculum. Components include exploring capitalism and solidarity economics, examining our histories and our present, and learning together about “Beautiful Solutions”—examples of people around the world building community resistance and economic alternatives for a more just and democratic world. Following the workshop we will share curriculum materials with participants to take back to their groups.

This 3-hour session is designed as an exciting way to give participants a taste of what is available in the Mapping Our Futures curriculum and to encourage people to start thinking about how to bring these tools their community. The curriculum is for deepening our understanding of our community while exploring what potential solutions might look like and require of us. We will build on our understanding of the systems of economy and government that got us here, explore alternatives, and grow our relationships..

This session is open to all community and university participants. Registering helps us plan ahead. Thank you!
