Hello! Thank you for your interest in volunteering at What's Blooming. This year's festival will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023. We are looking for volunteers to help with tent set up in the morning before the event begins, to be booth minders for artists who may need a break during the event and for break down at the end. Please respond to the following questions. We will get back to you with more details and shift information. Set up begins at 8:30 am and the fair runs until 9:00 pm. Questions? SETUP
(roughly 8:15am - 11am)
Jobs include:
1. Delivering rented tables and chairs to specific locations within the festival.
2. Helping vendors put up their tents.
3. Give directions to booth spaces.
4. Thinking on the fly to help. There's lots of random things that come up so a floater for those would be great.
BOOTH MINDER DURING THE DAY
There will be a list of artists working solo. These people are your priority. Go into the booth, ask if they need relief. If so, hang out, talk to people who come in to look at the art. You will not handle any sales transactions. Simply state the artist will be back and you’d be happy to put the piece aside. Sometimes the artist might be gone up to ½ an hour if using the bathroom and getting food. When the artist is back...move on. Please note, not everyone notifies us beforehand if they are working alone so if you see someone working alone, just ask if they need relief.
BREAKDOWN
If you are available for breakdown (7pm-10pm)
We will need to breakdown the OPAD booth as well as help solo vendors take down their booths. We will also be gathering up the rented tables and chairs and putting near the tents for the rental company to come pick up
