Jeremy L. Glick Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: April 15
Background
The scholarship was established shortly after the tragic events of 9/11 to memorialize the sacrifice and heroism of Jeremy L. Glick, a 1993 graduate of the University of Rochester and member of Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity. Jeremy was one of the passengers aboard Flight 93 who banded together in a heroic and successful effort to thwart terrorist efforts to crash the plane into the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Purpose
While an undergraduate, Jeremy was involved in extracurricular activities including sports, leadership of the fraternity and student life groups, and actively participated in the Alpha Delta Phi literary program. At the same time, he required financial aid, so it is appropriate that this scholarship benefit an undergraduate who is involved in campus-wide activities based on need, not merit.
Eligibility
Award(s) will be made to undergraduate students of the University of Rochester River Campus who are in good standing and members of a College-recognized and accredited fraternity or sorority. Completed applications are due on or before April 1, and the monetary award will be effective for the academic year that begins in the following fall semester. Awards are for one academic year only; winners cannot reapply in successive years. Students are not eligible to receive this scholarship during their Take 5 or E5 years.
