In the spring of 1981, Perla, an imigrant and
impulsive painter, must return from Vienna to communist Czechoslovakia to
settle an old debt. She fled the country many years ago and is unwelcome on
both sides of the Iron Curtain. Perla embarks on a risky journey to uncover the
secrets of her past that she has kept under lock and key. This film depicts a
vibrant, strong and purposeful woman and mother who is trying to live her life
according to her own ideas, despite the losses she has had to overcome.
