Interest Form: Introduce a Girl to Engineering
Join SWE Houston, SWE Rice and the Rice Oshman Design Kitchen (OEDK) to bring the world of engineering to young girls in the Houston area at the Introduce a Girl to Engineering: Design Your World event. There will be two tracks for the event as well as a parent/educator program. This year 200 students will attend one of two outreach program tracks, Innovative Product Design or Extreme Engineering. Innovative product design will include using Autodesk TinkerCAD, laser cutters, and electrical wiring to create lamps to take home! Extreme engineering will be filled with quick thinking, problem solving, procurement, catapult competitions and lava lamps. The Parent/Education Program (PEP) will highlight innovative education tactics to teach girls STEM and keep them engaged. Volunteers will also be given lunch!
