SASS Volunteer Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Saline Area Social Services (SASS)!
As you'll see from the list below, we have a a number of different areas where we can use extra help. When selecting your areas of interest, if you are interested in only one area, please select that option below. If you have more than one area of interest, or want to see all the areas where we can use your help, please select all.
After your interest form is submitted to SASS, a SASS representative will contact your within 3-5 business days to discuss your selections and discuss potential volunteer assignments. And, once we agree on an assignment, we'll coordinate a time for you to complete an orientation. It is required for all volunteers to complete an orientation before starting an assignment.
A Health-Informed Approach to Volunteering:
Due to COVID-19, SASS has adopted a number of precautions to protect the safety of our staff, volunteers and clients. Our facility allows for social distancing.
Also, all volunteers will be asked these questions before the start of their shift. If you answer yes to any of the following, we will not be able to host you as a volunteer at this time.
- In the last 48 hours, have you had symptoms of fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, or diarrhea?
- Have you had close contact in the last 14 days with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19?
- Have you traveled on an airplane internationally or domestically in the last 14 days?
If you've answered no to all of these questions, please feel free to submit your application. Prior to starting each shift, SASS will check each volunteer's temperature and run through a brief health screening by asking these questions to each volunteer again. SASS also requires all volunteers to wear masks and gloves for each shift, and SASS will provide these materials to all volunteers who need them.
