Spongy Moth Egg Sac Removal Project Intake Form
LDD moths, common name Spongy Moths, are an invasive species that wreak havoc on our tree canopy each year, so we are excited at the prospect of bringing together our community to help keep them under control. We are keeping track of how many egg sacs are removed through the project so we can calculate an estimate of the leaf area saved. That means that participants will know what a big, positive impact the project has had on our urban tree canopy! The program is open to all grades,  for students from Kindergarten to grade 12, as well as families and community groups.  The Spongy Moth egg sac removal project will run until mid April as this is the time of year when the eggs begin to hatch.
