SCYM 2026 Workshop Proposal Form

We invite you to submit a proposal for workshops that align with the SCYM 2025 theme, "Creating Collective Integrity Through Personal Experience." This theme explores how our personal struggles, actions, and leadings can inspire positive change within our communities and beyond. Workshops should reflect on how individual experiences contribute to shared responsibility and collective action, fostering integrity in our personal and communal lives. Whether your focus is spiritual reflection, practical action, or creative expression, we welcome diverse ideas to inspire and empower SCYM.

Here are some suggestions for workshops. These are simply suggestions for potential workshops to spark inspiration and get your creative ideas flowing. They are NOT finalized plans and can be adjusted, combined, or reimagined as you see fit to align with your interests and vision.

Suggestion #1. "From Personal Struggles to Shared Strengths"

Possible Focus: How individual challenges can foster resilience and inspire collective action.
Possible Activity: Participants share personal stories of struggle and reflect on how these experiences have informed their values. Then, brainstorm ways these values can guide community initiatives.

Possible Focus: George Fox’s idea of continuing revelation and how personal spiritual insights can inspire community action.
Possible Activity: Guided reflection and silent worship followed by sharing how personal leadings could address communal or global issues.

Suggestion #3. "Witnessing the Inner Light in Community"

Possible Focus: Recognizing and supporting the Inner Light in others to foster shared responsibility.
Possible Activity: Small groups share moments when others supported their integrity, then discuss ways to build a culture of mutual support.

Suggestion #4. "Stories as Catalysts for Justice"

Possible Focus: How storytelling can inspire communal action against injustice.
Possible Activity: Participants share impactful personal stories, then brainstorm how these can lead to advocacy or service initiatives.

Suggestion #5. "Discerning Together: Collective Leadings for Integrity"

Possible Focus: How communities can discern collective action through shared leadings.
Possible Activity: A group discernment process focused on addressing a specific injustice or need identified by participants.

Possible Focus: George Fox’s idea of experiential knowing as a tool for creating integrity.
Possible Activity: Practical exercises in which participants experiment with small, integrity-driven actions and reflect on their impact.

Suggestion #7. "Living Testimonies: Aligning Life with Integrity"

Possible Focus: The Quaker testimonies (peace, equality, simplicity, integrity, etc.) as guides for personal and collective action.
Possible Activity: Group discussions on how individual adherence to testimonies strengthens communal integrity.

Suggestion #8. "Quaker Practice for Global Justice"
