Do you understand our food situation *
Catering. We are catering for everyone as part of the event and the food will be wholesome, healthy and plentiful. Breakfasts will be cereals (such as corn flakes, weetabix, muesli, granola), fruit, toast, bread and spreads. Lunch will be sandwiches, salads, fruit, pasta, soup, etc. Dinners will be a mix of vegetarian options - rice, pasta, vegetable and salad dishes and meat for the carnivores. Food is high quality and large content - we invest a lot in catering, don't expect sausage and beans. Do not assume we can cater for bespoke diets, other than vegetarian. If you need supplements - gluten free, vegan, allergy issues - we need you to provide these. We do not provide crisps, chocolate, cake, fizzy drinks or gluten free rice cakes - if you need these things you should bring your own. There is no shop within 3 miles - we are in the middle of nowhere.
Do you understand the focus is on the training? *
We are a training event, not a party. Training will be the main focus every day, as will be fun. Evenings will be filled with social activities too, and over 18s can enjoy a refreshing beer or wine at the end of the day. It's not Reading Festival, or a night out on the town. We have a zero tolerance policy on elicits and under 18s drinking.
Have you read all info on the event website? *
You'll be living in the outdoors of the far North of England - will you be prepared? *
Summer at an outdoor event - you need to prepare well. We'll have big dry spaces, hot shower and toilets, but throughout the week you can expect to get wet, wind-blown, cold at night and sun-blushed during the day, there will be mud and sheep poo, wasps and nettles, rabbit holes and cows. You need to bring the right clothes, bring the right camping equipment and be willing to rough it a little bit. We provide food, you provide cutlery and plates for yourself
At Circus. In a Field! - everyone gets involved. No spectators, only participants *
This event is made by circus people and run for circus people. Circus people get involved in all aspects of day to day life, and all aspects of making the event a success. We've got a great crew of volunteers making this event happen, and dedicating their skills, time and experience to helping us all to develop circus. At times someone will say 'I need 4 volunteers' - please be a yes person.
We hope to welcoming you to the Circus Gathering and to share a fantastic time with you. See you in a field!?
We are real people sitting behind a real computer like you are - want a conversation?
