Indica Books is an online platform showcasing books on our civilisational knowledge and history as well as books belonging to other genres, written by authors who intellectually and emotionally belong to our civilisation. It seeks to build a global community of book lovers by encouraging reading, sharing & writing - reviews, longform and books.

Over the last six years, we have given away more than ten-thousand books, promoted over hundred authors, organized more than a hundred and fifty book launches, interviewed over fifty authors, trained more than two hundred writers and authors, given away fifty five MasterClass lessons, sponsored a litfest and curated panel discussions at litfests. We have also given two-hundred and fifty publishing grants, and published twelve books.

We now launch the 2022 edition of our 1000 REVIEWERS CLUB.
We have now launched an initiative to distribute FIVE-THOUSAND copies by promoting FIFTY authors and distribute up to a HUNDRED copies of their books to a select group of THOUSAND (or more) reviewers.

These reviewers will receive up to five books (or less, or more) over a twelve-month period. These books will be yours to keep, and there is no charge or admission or membership fees.

Please read these terms and conditions:

i. We will be sending out only physical books this time.
ii. Like before, these books will be sent out to addresses in India only.
iii. You agree to provide Indica and Indica Books with a non-exclusive copyright to your reviews.
iv. Reviews must be posted to Amazon and/or Goodreads.
v. You will share those reviews on Twitter and Facebook and tag our Twitter handle. If posting on Facebook, please join our Facebook group and share your reviews there. Links are provided below.
vi. We will send five books – or less or more. In other words, if you sign up and if you are among the first thousand people who sign up, we will send you books. Whether it is two, three, four, five, or more – we really, really can’t say. It all depends on you. 😊
vii. It is also possible that we will end up sending books to more than 1000 reviewers (people sometimes drop out for various reasons, and that freed up slot goes to the next person in line, and so on).
viii. Reviews have to be original (i.e., no plagiarism or copy-paste from someone else’s review) and meaningful (this means that reviews of the ‘I liked this book. It is a good book. Everyone should read this book.’ variety do not count. Yes, this is also one of those duh-of-course things, but please indulge us). On a more serious note, plagiarism is a form of theft. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards such violations.
ix. To ensure that as many reviewers as possible get a chance to take part in this initiative, we are restricting sign-ups to one per-household (I think this is only fair).
x. One more thing - unlike the last time, this time we do not have the bandwidth to send books as per your interests. Therefore, there is no option this time in the sign-up form for your reading interests. Sorry, but I hope you do understand.
