Become a Teen Reviewer

Review books, music, and movies and earn community service hours! Teens can earn one community service hour for every review! Reviews may be posted on the Teen Blog and used in Library promotions. Reviews of 10 items per year will count toward your community service hours, but you may review as many items as you wish. Items reviewed must be from Oshawa Public Libraries’ collection.

Reviews must:

  • Be between 250-300 words in length.
  • Contain both a summary of the book/movie/video game, as well as a personal critique.
  • Not contain “spoilers”.
  • Be suitable for publication.
  • Be written in your own words and not contain AI generated or plagiarized text. 

Becoming a reviewer is easy – simply fill out the form below to select your items to review. We will contact you by email to let you know your items have been approved, so you can begin writing!

Items to review must be available in the library catalogue. Please visit oshawalibrary.ca to confirm that your review items are available. If you do not know which items you wish to review, please give us a general idea, i.e., I want to review teen books.

You can review books, graphic novels, DVDs and Blu-rays, video games, etc.
