This Merit Scholarship is based on the content and creativity of a family's response to how they apply Suzuki principles to their daily life and assist their young children with their musical practice.  Funds come from a trust established by Margery Aber to recognize families who demonstrate excellence in applying Suzuki principles to their family life and musical practice, such as:

1.)   Recognition that all children have talent and unlimited capacity.
2.)   Cultivation of artistic appreciation within the program and in the community.
3.)   Practice of service in the community and within the Aber Suzuki Center.

Eligibility:

Families receiving this scholarship will meet the following criteria:
1.)  Have one student 12 years of age or younger who has completed at least two consecutive semesters of study at the Aber Suzuki Center.
2.)  Are currently enrolled.
3.)  Demonstrate regular attendance by the student and family member at lessons, marathons, and group lessons.
4.)  Practice Suzuki principles such as daily practice,  listening, and regular review.
5.)  Demonstrate regular participation in community outreach and performance for the Aber Suzuki Center and/or independently in the community.
6.)  Are current with Aber Suzuki Center tuition.  
7.)  Did not win this award in the previous year.

1.)  The Earle and Alvina Aber Family Scholarship will be awarded one time per year in the spring.
2.)  Up to five families will receive $300 per family in scholarship funds.
3.)  Scholarship funds will be applied to the family's fall semester Aber Suzuki Center tuition.

Award Timeline:

1.)  Family completes and submits this application form by March 20, 2022. Send music resume and poster (see website) to lynn@americansuzukifoundation.com
2.)  Weeks of April 4 and April 15 - Finalists will be selected by the Scholarship Committee
3.)  Week of April 18 - Winners will be contacted by the ASF Scholarship Committee
4.)  April 30 - Festival Concert - Formal announcement of scholarship winners
