Thank you for being willing to help celebrate the City of Adrian's Bicentennial Celebration, Saturday, July 5th and Sunday, July 6th! By volunteering with the Parade of Homes, you help to both secure and celebrate the rich architectural heritage embedded in our city.
There are two roles through which you can champion that heritage: Guide and Assistant. A Docent-Guide will support the homeowner as they lead multiple tours through a particular home, sharing the architectural distinctiveness of the home, pointing out forms and styles unique to a that style. You can expect to help the homeowner navigate tours every 20 minutes or so of around 5-6 ticket-holders.
A Docent-Assistant will greet ticket-holders upon arrival to the home, check their ticket status, and offer brief instructions both about how the tour will work and helping ticket-holders in general. You'll have opportunity to stand, sit, and walk around the entrance to the home/property as needed. Both roles will help to encourage ticket-holders remain respectful guests of the homes in the tour.
